Jackie, BA (Hons) in Contemporary Art Practice, grew up on the East of Scotland and likes to incorporate her experiences of rural living combined with her love of the countryside and the sea, in her work.
Jackie works predominantly in acrylics, building up layers with paint and glaze, allowing her to rub back revealing previous layers of colour. Texture is developed through the use of imprinting lace and delicate textiles into a gesso and modelling paste base.
Through the clever use of these layers Jackie produces highly appealing work and with closer inspection a complexity and deeper meaning is unveiled.
