Gillian currently focuses on painting still life flowers and Scottish and French landscapes. She is inspired by the variations and nuances in colours and textures in the diverse foliage and flowers to be found here in Scotland as well as in France.
Gillian paints at home in her studio and takes much of her inspiration from her own garden in Edinburgh where she grows flowers like peonies, irises, cosmos and tulips. Working predominantly in oils, her paintings are colourful, contemporary and cheerful and project a love of the subject to the viewer.
