DOUGLAS HAMILTON

Douglas Hamilton is an oil landscape painter, originally from Scotland’s Ayrshire coast. The ever-changing light on the islands of the Firth of Clyde inspired him to experiment with oil painting in his teens. A longtime interest in the impressionists and a desire to capture fleeting light, colour and atmosphere led Douglas to explore painting in Plein Air, which forms the basis of his works to date. Douglas has lived and painted in several European countries, and is now based in Edinburgh.

Commissioning Artwork

If you like the style and have a particular subject in mind then it may be possible to commission a piece from the particular artist.

The Atelier Gallery has managed many commissions for our clients and believes it is a unique and personal way of purchasing art. We are here to simplify a process that allows you to become fully engaged, as appropriate, with the design and development of a bespoke piece of artwork.
