The Atelier Gallery are looking to give aspiring creatives the opportunity to gain first hand experience of the commercial art industry and an insight into how to become an exhibiting artist.

Our Competition is currently taking entries for all Edinburgh Secondary School Students currently studying Higher, Advanced Higher or A Level Art.

Deadline for entries closes on Monday 26th February 2024.
See below some further information about the competition.

The Prize

The shortlisted winners will be invited to an informal workshop where we will talk through the operations of becoming a practising commercial artist. Linda Park is the Atelier Gallery’s in-house artist, showing throughout the UK and abroad whilst also being a gallery owner and will therefore be able to share her understanding and knowledge of both sides of the industry. In addition, the shortlisted winner’s original submission artwork pieces will be shown in a group exhibition held at The Atelier Gallery.

The overall winner will be invited to exhibit an original series of artworks in the form of an Individual Feature Show. This Feature Show will be held at The Atelier Gallery in the summer of 2024. Their exhibits will be professionally framed by Atelier’s in-house framing team as required and will be put up for sale. If sold, the pupil will receive all proceeds, through a mixture of the normal artist’s commission and materials/ vouchers for further in-house framing.
