ANTHONY BARBER

Anthony J. Barber was born in Staffordshire in 1962. He pursued his studies in Architecture and Design to a postgraduate level in West Yorkshire. During this period, he engaged in sketching and painting across Yorkshire and the stunning West Coast and Islands of Scotland. In 1994, he relocated to the Isle of Lewis, where he now dedicates himself to painting full-time in his studio gallery, located just above the harbour and beach in Port of Ness.

Anthony’s artwork primarily reflects the beauty of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, with a particular emphasis on the West Coast and Hebrides. Notably, his works have been selected for prestigious exhibitions, including those hosted by the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) and the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) at the National Gallery of Scotland in Edinburgh, as well as the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA) and Discerning Eye exhibitions at the Mall Galleries in London.

Commissioning Artwork

If you like the style and have a particular subject in mind then it may be possible to commission a piece from the particular artist.

The Atelier Gallery has managed many commissions for our clients and believes it is a unique and personal way of purchasing art. We are here to simplify a process that allows you to become fully engaged, as appropriate, with the design and development of a bespoke piece of artwork.
